Africa, drawn by 4096 rotating circles. The map that went viral on our page: every border of the continent, drawn by a single line.
This print is the final frame of our animation: a Fourier series breaks the outline of Africa (54 countries) into 4096 circles spinning at different speeds. Chained together, their tip traces the map with an approximation error below 0.1%. The two formulas at the bottom are the actual equations behind the drawing.
